Parent Coaching

These are one to one or one to two (if both parents present) sessions which are individually needs led. This means that anything that is impacting your ability to parent can be discussed here. I work to a value system of attuned, collaborative parenting, with the focus on creating more easeful and respectful relationships within the family, rather than behaviourist based strategies. I find this approach is particularly suited for neurodivergent families, and those who have experienced trauma, where viewing your child with an empathetic and compassionate lens is the key to being able to see your child’s need with more clarity and helping them to feel safe and secure in their family unit. This is what builds true emotional resilience in children.

To date these are the areas I have supported families with :

• Getting curious about why your child is showing up the way they are and exploring possible roots of the behaviour to gain a deeper understanding of the needs of your child
• Parental conflict around different parenting approaches
• How your own upbringing influences your parenting and how to unravel that and do things a different way
• Supporting your child through nervous system dysregulation, mental, emotional and cognitive difficulties and sensory processing struggles
• Navigating the challenges of EBSA ( Emotionally based school avoidance)
• How to adopt a collaborative, attuned approach to meeting your child’s needs and create secure and safe relationships for everyone in the family unit
• Allieviating parental guilt and feelings of failure
• Exploring parental triggers, and mindfulness support
• Low demand parenting
• Sibling conflict
• Additional challenges that come from parenting a child with Autism, Adhd, Audhd, PDA, Dyslexia, Dyspraxia, executive function difficulties, Sensory Processing Disorder, depression, anxiety, self harm and suicidal ideation,
